:)Hi Tony and welcome, the dolmus service from Koca Calis is an excellent one, and goes through Gunlukbasi,so they are both good and frequent services, if you have been before I am sure you will know the set up, Koca Calis is definately on the up of late, and lots of good reports about Gunlukbasi, so take your time to choose, just have a wander through the forum and you will learn loads.Enjoy. ;)

Hi we have an apartment in the Gunlukbasi area which is approximately 10/15 minutes stroll to the beach. There are a number of corner shops and excellent restaurant's in close proximity including a Turkish version B & Q and being only a few minutes walk from the Sunday market, the main Gunlukbasi Road has a variety of shops, dolmus service within 2 minutes walk. We feel it blends the old with the new without spoiling the local area and older Turkish way of life. Not very familiar with the Koca Calis region so will leave that to someone with the knowledge. We are very happy with the location and the  Calis charm.  Good luck with your search  :) 8)

We have a villa in Koca Calis and we love it 10 mins to the sea and all you need close by it is quieter than Calis & Gunlukbasi which is what we like

TonySue, like legless we have our place in Koca Calis, a very relaxed and laid back area, although it is on the up and up.  Currently 3 or 4 decent restaurants on the beach, 10 mins slow walk away, 2 or 3 small 'corner shops' which supply you with the basics.  Calis is 20 mins slow walk, or a 10YTL taxi ride.  there is even a burgher and chips take away joint!  In summary very quiet but the bright lights are but a short distance away.  On the forum Koca Calis has its own section, have a read to get a feel for the place.

We have a place just across from the mosque in Gunlukbasi, we are in amongst the local turkish people, most helpful, quiet and approx 20 min walk to beach, dolmus at top of road approx 5 min walk to beach or Fethiye.% min walk to Sunday market.Still to find the bars, so could someone enlighten me on where they are, plenty of shops supermarkets etc and a new lokantasi opened up on top road, only thing to do is come across and you will know within yourself where is right.
