Burglar Alarm
« on: August 28, 2007, 12:25:38 PM »
Hi All
We had a wireless Burglar alarm installed in our villa last week to try to combat the increasing amount or burglaries that we are hearing about in the Calis area. It was professionally installed by a very nice English guy who shock horror cleaned up his mess after completing the work.
After he went I spent ages trying to beat the system (like you do when you've got lots of time on your hands) but to no avail. It was easily installed with the minimum amount of mess. It even dials my home number to tell me of an activation if I don't answer it will try my mobile and so on for up to 10 numbers. Its got a remote panic button as well (something that the wife wanted) so you can take it up to bed. Its worth remembering however not to place the remote to near the air con remote because at 3 in the morning when your half asleep and trying to put the air con on it scares the crap out of you. The system so I'm told is fully expandable to cover all sizes of villa or apartment (see even listened to the sales talk what did I say about TOO much time)
If you want the guys details email me via my profile and I'll be glad to pass them along.

Ok if you live in Turkey, not very practical for a holiday home.

Hi Tink & Puma

No we do not have dog or cockerils, where do they come in to it?
Also we have no permanent English neighbours and we don't live there either.
The system is very practical as it dials our friends mobile who lives 5 minutes away in Calis.
Also if you've no friends and you don't trust your Turkish neighbours with your villa keys you can give them a remote key fob to turn the alarm off from outside your house in the event of a false alarm.
But then the system shuts down after twenty minutes and resets its self providing there has been no actually break in anyway.
