I have just registered with the new doctor in Calis free of charge. His name is Dr Ali and his surgey is opposite the Sunshine cafe on the road to Kippa in Calis. He speaks excellent English and is prepared to go the extra mile to look after his pateints. After talking to him the costs of a consulatıon are the same for both Turkish and English residents that being 60TL and then any medicine is extra.I would say that he is no different to the GP we were used to in England. If you need a register with a doctor and are passing just drop in for a chat with him that is what ı done.

If you have just met this doctor how do you know he is prepared to go the extra mile for his patients ? Unusual first post.
-
perhaps you should visit the doctor in person so you can make your own judgement
-
Thanks Mags. We need to register with a doctor, so will pop along and see him.
-
why is he charging 60tl when the others are free?
is it just for non residents?
-
Its 30lira at the Devlet Hospital to see a Doctor,
-
60 Lira in Esnaf....
-
70 lira to see a consultant at the Esnaf now.
-
With SGK only 48 lira
-
12 with sgk at Letoon.
Free at Devlet with SGK, unless a specialist, which is a token amount ( I think 5tl )
Free to see a 'GP' at the surgery up from Alo 24 by the mosque
-
Free to see the doctor at the Cıftlık (Government ) clınıc.
-
Thank you for the information. I asked about doctors at the beginning of the year. Useful to know if like me you are not a member of SGK or do not live in Turkey full time.

We have just registered with this practice and have found the doctor to be very helpful. I was unable to attend an appointment in Mugla for residency and he supplied a letter for the officials in the DGMM.
My wife took the letter to Mugla and it was accepted. She was able to sign for me and I don't have to face the round trip to Mugla.
I have no problems recommending Dr Ali if anyone is looking to register with a practice here. I agree with the initial poster Magshosier that he has the welfare of his patients very much to the fore.

Our Doctor is in Gunlukbasi and does not charge for anything, I had to attend recently to get my blood typed for my Turkish driving license, while there, as well as the blood test he gave me a quick MOT, blood pressure, listened to heart and chest etc and discussed if all was well on the health front.
This new Doctor must be a private practice?

Where abouts in Gunlukbasi is he please?
-
He is Dr Ufuk and located in the health centre by the mosque on the road that runs from the traffic lights near Melissa down to the traffic lights near the Devlet hospital, the bad news is that he's full and can't take anymore patients.
-
Dr Ufuk, is a lovely man. Loves his fishing and is partial to a bar of Cadbury's Fruit and Nut Chocolate or a box of Black Magic chocolates.
Back on topic; Dr. Ali , Horses for courses
