Hi all
On our way over there again soon, what's the current rate please.
We normally use the exchange shop on market street.
Thanks.

In my experience you will always get a better rate in Turkey than the UK
-
It's about 7 TL to the £ atm :)

They are giving 6.75tl to the £ this morning.
-
Is market street in fethiye or calis? We have always used the exchange on bar street, next to mangal, in calis. Do they offer similar rates or is one better than the other?
-
It's always worth checking the rates at the jewelers, they often give better rates...
If you happen to be in Fethiye then the banks give a far better rate than the exchange offices, particularly Şekerbank on the top road almost opposite the HSBC bank. Not Finansbank though now QNB!

I change my sterling up at Kuuveyt Turk bank in Fethiye ,by the fish market. :)
-
Coming out to calis at the end of the month for the fifth year on the run, never been to fethiye and always changed sterling at the exchange shop. Do you stick with what you know or try something different :-\
-
Not legal but Zumrut Jewelry :)
-
Kuuveyt gives a good rate but you do need to have your passport with you for money change there
-
But it'll still be illegal.

In this heat, I can't be ar5ed to walk for miles in the hope of getting 0.1 extra on the exchange rate. These days, you'd need to change IRO £200 for it to yield 1 extra efes or glass of wine. Hardly life changing ;)

Thanks all.
A bit down on last year then but not too bad.
See you in Calis in a few weeks!

In a few weeks rates could be very different.
-
The higher the rate, the better for tourists but think of the locals. I don’t think about the exchange rate when I visit. It is what it is and the quality of food is always great and excellent value regardless of the exchange rate.
