Ha ha, not me mate. I'm just remembering a verbal pasting I got from Mr S over my liking for Rioja.

Didn't bother with this offer as our "cellar" is still pretty full of €5 bottles of Crianzas and Reservas lugged back from Carrefour in Bilbao last December. Will be topping that up at the end of the month in Jerez.

Anyway, I'm not worried. It'll turn-up soon no doubt.

I can always get my lad to call round to yours for a sample. He's based at the Garrison. ;)

I admonished the driver and asked where my wine was. (I know the guy quite well). He said he will get mine out to me tomorrow. However, my daughter gave me a bottle of her's to try. So we will give it a bash tonight and get back with the results. ;) ;D 8) :-*

I wrote to Groupon to ask where my order was. Got an email back saying how annoying it was to be waiting for somethng and then telling me to go to two web addresses and enquire, one was in Spain.
I wrote back and said, as they were the company I bought from, it was up to them to make enquiries and not me.

I've just emailed them and apparently, "someone will reach out to me within 24 hours". It better not be while I'm in bed or they're gonna have some further explaining to do. ;)

They told me it was up to me to email the Spanish supplier and find out what has happened to it. I have just emailed them and the email was kicked back to me as an unknown email address. Just phoned GROUPON again and they say they will look into it now, but it could take up to 10 days for them to find out. I asked them who refunds me if the wine has gone AWOL and they said it would be them. Ermm so why didn't they take up the case in the first place? Forgive the pun..

Rang UK Mail yesterday who are the uk agent for Eurodis. Gave them all the tracking numbers etc, but to no avail. So it's not even got to this country yet. >:( >:(

Apparently a whole Spanish Ferry crew were arrested yesterday after they were found to be too drunk to carry out their duties. Police found 36 empty bottles of Rioja on deck. Hmmm I wonder???

The good news is my tracking is now working and picked up my case at 5.23 this morning. My customer service guy said "Yes, I can tell you your order is in transit and currently in ... um, currently in ... where's that? oh ... your order is in Germany. I don't know what it is doing there it has come from Spain ... I'll have to ask my manager". Eventually he came back and said they had started an investigation. I told him I knew several other people who hadn't had cases delivered and he agreed that his colleague had dealt with one earlier in the week. Which is a good thing, apparently. Because if they've sorted it once already it will be quicker to sort it again. Allegedly.

Unfortunately it has now been moved from Manchester to Stafford. Given that Manchester is 30 miles north of where I live and Stafford is 30 miles south of where I live this seems a futile journey, especially as they would have driven within 5 miles of my place at J17 of the M6.

The saga continues - should I start a blog I wonder?

The driver was explaining to me that he is self employed and only gets paid by Mail UK when a parcel is delivered and accepted by the customer. When he collected my parcel from Stafford he could tell straight away that it was damaged, the sound of broken glass from inside and the big red stain were dead give-aways. The rules meant that he still had to deliver it to me to give me the opportunity to reject it. He even had to ask me for some gaffer tape to secure the box up again because they are not allowed to carry gaffer tape in the vans. His trip from Stafford to Stoke and back again was a complete waste of his time and fuel costs. He earned absolutely nothing for it. I felt so sorry for him. :'(

It's nothing new Steve. It was standard practise when I worked for TNT in the early 80s. It's part of the T&Cs of almost every delivery company in the world that even if a package is obviously damaged, the consignee must either accept it in that condition or refuse it and sign to that effect. It's then up to them to make a claim against the consignor, and for the consignor to claim against the carrier.

Unfortunately though very few of them have Goods In Transit insurance (GIT) and most probably haven't informed their motor insurers that they're using their vehicle for business. It'll all be fine until they have a damage or loss claim against them, or they're involved in an accident. Their insurers are likely to refuse any claim.

There's probably a snowball's chance of me getting a refund from Spain so it looks like it's £50 down the drain for me. >:(

I had no reply to an email but was told I wouldn't get a reply unless I included the security code - at the bottom of your confirmation email. Maybe but, like KKOB, my wine eventually turned up without Groupon doing anything to help. However, I suggest you give Groupon a reasonable time limit to solve the problem and say if they don't you will then demand a full refund from them.
