Title: Yasaroglu Hotel
Post by: Jenny1 on August 28, 2008, 16:37:20 PM
Hi
Has anybody stayed at the Yasaroglu Hotel? Is it nearer to Ovacik than Hisaronu? Also, is there anthing around or is it very remote? :)
Thanks
Jen x

Jen,
Its on the main road from Fethiye to Hisaronu actually in Ovacik.
I would guess about 20 mins walk into Hisaronu.
There are a few bars, supermarkets & restaurants within 5 mins walk from memory.

As bewza said it is located in Ovacik so NOT the middle of nowhere, with plenty of restaurants, shops etc. in the vicinity  8)

You dont even need to go to Hisaronu - there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from within a few minutes walk - and cheaper than Hisaronu. We "discovered" Ovacik whilst out last week, and have decided that in future we will give H a miss and stick to Ovacik of an evening.

sorry linda but 20 min walk to hisarano means you have to pass 20 resturantes trying to get you business by the time you get to the roundabout you wished you had just gone to bims.

I agree with Sue Mac .... why even go to Hisaronu with so much choice in Ovacik. Jinky ...... the point I was making is that the hotel is not in the middle of nowhere - with over 20 restaurants to choose from how can it be [?] 8)

If you walk the back roads it is a shorter journey into Hisaronu and you can avoid all the restaurants that way if you really want to.

Well said sue mac and Linda...Ovacik has plenty of bars and restaurants...no need to go into hisaronu at all....most are cheaper than H and theres not the same "hassling you" to come in and eat or drink as there is in H....so more pleasurable all round:D..how jinky can say Ovacik is in the middle of nowhere beggers belief[?] :o

I thought this topic was about the Yasaroglu Hotel, which is on the main well lit road ..... so I'm not quite sure what the point you are making is Jinky!

If you choose to take the back roads, it can be a shorter journey as minmioo has said and is the quieter less touristy route and  therefore is not so well lit at night but extremely pleasant during the day.

Thanks for the replies everyone!
As I am travelling on my own, which would be safer, don't want to be walking down dark lanes etc on my own?
The Yasaroglu or Balkaya?
Any views on Balkaya by the way? Just a bit dubious as it is so cheap?  :)

Done it! :D:D Have booked Yasaroglu, £230 H/B, am coming out on 5th Oct, will there be any CBF members out there then?

Thanks Linda, I know it sounds silly, but this was my litle treat to myself for bringing up my 2 children on my  own, and helping them grow up into the lovely adults they are. I have a  26 year old son with a lovely partner, they have blessed me with a beautiful grandson who is now 2, my gorgeous 18 year old daughter, who moves out to go to university this Monday, I am  so proud of them, think i'm having a mid life crisis, getting all emotional!
Really do hope I cam make it out, it sounds my ideal place

Still early days Jen.

Wait till the dust dies down a bit and fingers crossed you will get something sorted out.

Will you get your money back for the XL flights ? (have you paid by credit card or do you have an annual travel insrance policy in place ?)

Good luck

Ian (Dalriada)

Glad you made it, if you're a mind to on the Saturday you're there, pop into CC's bar I'll buy you a drink to make up for all your stress. If you leave your hotel, head in the direction of Hisaronu, you'll come to a Mosque on the crossroads, hook a left and CC's is 50 mtrs up the hill on the left.I'll be in there about 4 with wife and friends,I'll put on a Harley Davidson tshirt so you recognise me,I'll probably be on the floor anyway, just give me a kick, have a safe flight. :).

Funny Geordieboy!
Has anybody stayed at the Yasaroglu? Just wanted to know if they have a kettle in the room?
I gave mine to a couple in Calis in July, and so will probably have to buy one!
