Time delay switch on ACU
« on: September 20, 2008, 22:59:43 PM »
I want to find some way of making it difficult for renters to leave the ACU running in the Villa unnecessarily.

I already have a "key-fob" mains switch but that doesn't stop people by-passing it (if you know what you are doing) or just leaving it on when they are around the Villa but not actually in the villa using it.

In addition to the key-fob system I am thinking about fitting an additional timer delay switch on each ACU.   What this will mean is to turn them on guests have to insert the main key-fob , then press a button which will provide power to the ACU for a period (1 - 2 hours ?).    If they are in the villa and want them turned on again they just have to press the button.

Does anyone have such a system or has see one ?

Yes it may be a bit inconvenient for resposnible guests , but will hopefully help deal will les srsponsble ones.  With mad energy costs and carbon foot-print concerns I would hope guests would understand.

I have some more research to do but this is the type of delay switch I am thinking about
