A work colleague is getting married in Olu Deniz and wants to pay the wedding co-ordinator in sterling as sterling is the price that has been quoted.  What would be the best way to pay as he has to pay when he is there due to final figures, etc.  He obviously doesn't want to bring approx 5-6k in cash. Could he get travellers cheques and pay with them?  Any advice would be appreciated.  Many thanks

Load his credit card/cards,with whatever amounts he chooses in the UK.Withdraw in Sterling at any atm. Some banks/building societies still operate a free withdrawal service for cash.Just check in UK.Any other way will always cost!

Remember there is usually a daily limit on withdrawals.....you could spend a fortnight to draw that amount of money. :)

If you have a sterling account in Turkey just transfer some cash into that.

Bring some cash, load a nationwide flex account for himself and a trusted friend/relative who is going to wedding ..... maybe even the bride, if she is trusted ...... and withdraw multiple limits daily. This would then take less than a fortnight.

Nationwide daily ATM limit is £300 for overseas withdrawals and will remain free from any charges at present.
