Has anyone ever been asked by their UK bank to supply the NCC of the bank/branch in Turkey they are sending money to?
Is the SWIFT BIC code sufficent and this NCC optional..or is it compulsory?
Appeciate any advice.

If you mean the International Bank Account Number or IBAN ? It's not compulsory, but certainly advisory.

No its not this.I think its equivalent of UK bank sort code.Perhaps
its not appropriate in Turkey.It appears on the transfer form following both the SWIFT BIC & IBAN info

Llyods only ask for recipients name,account number,iban number & bank address.

Nationwide wanted the Iban number a month ago. It is still possible to send just by the swift code but we were told that the money then goes to the head office and sometimes takes longer to reach your branch in our case 3 weeks 2 years ago. As it was with the Iban number it took just 2 days to reach the Ak Bank.

Thanks for all the replies.I've sent it off with IBAN and
SWIFT code.The UK bank finally agreed to send without NCC code.
