Just a reminder that tomorrow is the last day to take your utility bills to the bank as proof of your identity. The accounts will be frozen from then. Our friends went to their bank today to draw money and were told to bring their utility bill. They did in fact do this sometime ago but the system said that they hadn't done it. They spent all afternoon going to their other 3 banks and the same thing in each.

Does this requirement also apply if you pay a utility by direct debit?

If you are paying by direct debit from a turkish bank, they should already have proof of your address and basic items of your identity. If they have not they are not giving you a very good service, and with respect you are not talking to them,or they are not talking to you an a regular basis regards jon
