Why dont you open a bank account here and let the banks transfer it?

Do you have a bank account in Turkey ? If so, it is very simple. You can send money from your UK bank to your Turkish bank.

Mrs Caglar - we are also with Finans and transfers from our UK bank TSB has always been straightforward and pretty quick 3-4 days seems to be the norm.
Heres the info you need to give your UK bank these details are for downtown branch, if you are with the one near Migros the details will be diferent.
BANK NAME FINANS
BRANCH NAME FETHIYE
SWIFT CODE FNNBTRISOP
RECIEVER NAME - Your name as on account
RECIEVER ACCOUNT No -  Your account number
BANK CODE 111
BRANCH CODE 483
BANK ADDRESS ATATURK CAD. No:34. FETHIYE, MUGLA, TURKEY
BANK TELEPHONE No 0090 252 6126740 Ext 124
FAX No 0090 252 6126748
IBAN - this will be found on your bank statement if not on it ask Finans for it
its the one that starts with TR followed by approx 24 digits ( the final 8 digits are the same as your account number - don't get it wrong.....

Approximately £30 each transaction, if I remember correctly, that was 2 years ago.

You will send money to your GBP account, and send an instruction letter to bank, to change the money to TL, and put it in your TL account. Your TL account is probably a daily interest account, and brings lower interest than monthly one. You have to open a different monthly account if you want more interest. But I think you have to sign in person to open that account.
