Transfering money from Turkey to U.K.
« on: January 06, 2011, 08:47:19 AM »
One of the owners in our complex is very ill.She is selling her apartment, and her daughter has been given power of attorney to come over to Turkey to see the sale of her apartment through. She has asked me (to ask on here) how can she transfer her money back to the U.K.?
Any help would be appreciated.

Surely, it would be the same as transfering money for Britain to Turkey, just need account numbers oban number etc and do it through her 2 banks, even over the internet

Thanks Sarah. Just thought there may be a problem with the power of attorney issue.

Depending on who actually buys the property, it may be possible to arrange for the physical transfer of the property to take place in Turkey while the payment is made to a UK account (the present owner's) rather than to a Turkish account. It obviously will work best if the purchaser turns out to be British, meaning a UK to UK transfer. They should benefit too, as there would be no international transfer fees imposed.
