I'm afraid that most of the bars & restaurants have taken the view that the rain will wash it away eventually. As of yesterday early afternoon, most of the sand was still on the prom

No point in clearing the sand till the storms have finished pounding the beach I suppose.River behind the hotels on the prom has almost burst its banks and is an awful brown colour.Wonder if the new storm drain system in Fethiye has coped with the deluge?Anyone ventured in to see?

There's every point in clearing it. In places it is quite deep & slippy, I actual saw someone almost fall yesterday because of it. Furthermore, the floors inside the bars / restaurants will become dirtier & possibly damaged by everyone tramping sand in on their feet. Let's face it, most of the staff are not exactly rushed off their feet at the moment
