Icmeler, Turunc, Osmaniye, Sogut, Bozburun

After an overnight in Marmaris an early start to get a decent days driving done. Rain to greet the day & showers throughout which spoilt a few pictures but didn't spoil the trip though. Last did this journey in 2007, different feel to it now as in a car & not on a scooter & with different company.

Missed out on Bayir which was a shame, a lovely old Turkish village but alas this is when the rain was at its worst :(

2007 pics here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150553004376914.374744.741226913&type=3&l=350004ffa5

As normal, pics are low resolution for ease of uploading to FB, please excuse the slight grainy look to them & you do not need to be a subscriber to FB to view, they are public images.

I think it will probably end up appx 1500klms over the 2 weeks, like being back at work!

Those pics were a bit saddened by the rain but at least I can remember the view!

Lovely pictures I wish I had known you were coming out this way, we
live in Sogut for part of the year and would have been pleased to have
shown you around. The house on the top of the hill that you have in both 2007 & 2012 is our Muktars house 'I'm the king of the castle' always comes to mind  :)It has been the wettest winter I have known
here but at least the sun has shone between the heavy showers and the
almond trees are fabulous at the moment I see you captured a few of them  :)

Thank you for answering 1 of my questions Carol/Wallace, albeit inadvertently! I 1st thought it was cherry blossom then realised it was too early, now I know they are almond trees, certainly is in abundance in that area & very beautiful.

Shame I didn't know you were there, I'd have nicked a cay lol.

PS: Rich Muktar, nice house!

next time you're around this way pm me. Sogut is apparently the largest
village in Mugla not in population but in area...not a lot of people
know that  :)

Bozburun is now a customs port and friend has a small gullet,
sleeps 8, great for trips over to Simi, we did a couple of over
nights last year its a beautiful island. nice add on if your planning a longer trip.
also there is a little known about Marmaris 'bypass' you
turn right to Karacasogut 2nd turning after Cetebeli (jandarma
checkpoint)on the road down to Marmaris, then first left it brings you
out on the Datca road the other side of Marmaris great views over to Bodrum
