On our recent excursion to the sea, we learned that in Morocco goats do indeed grow on trees:

Loz & our friend Paul saw trees full of goats on one of their many "mystery" tours, somewhere in the area of Uzumlu.  8)

Is a fig in a goat tree anything like buying a pig in a poke?

Goats are very agile.  When I visited Essaoura in Morocco, the goats were jumping from branch to branch on the argan trees although there didn't appear to be anything for them to eat but I suppose they had already stripped the leaves.  There are shepherds watching them to ensure that they don't eat the argan fruits, which are highly prized. Argan only grows in this region of Morocco and is protected by UNESCO.  Argan oil is highly sought after for cosmetic products but it is also used for medicinal purposes and some cooking products.  The shepherds are quick to latch onto the tourists for money and they can be quite forceful and demanding in asking for cash AND they don't want loose change.
