washing machine
« on: October 04, 2013, 11:59:47 AM »
be over in Calis next week and I think a new washing machine is on the list. Our old one
has been acting up and its a small load drum.
Any residents spotted any good buys in the shops in Fethiye for a decent make washing machine
lately?
Cheers.

There is the Beko Shop at the very top of the one way street, we got our white goods from them.  Also did a bit of haggling.

We always prefer Bosch or Siemens. You might pay a bit more but they have excellent service and customer care - as professional as you hardly would find in Fethiye.

Being an appliance service engineer by trade, I would keep away from Beko (sorry Jaqui) they are poor quality and have safety issues. Bosch and Siemens are indeed more expensive but the safer bet.   ;)

We had all Beko produces on our first Kitchen in Calis. after 5 years the dishwasher had a problem.  I got in touch with Erin Spot who put us in touch with the Engineers. They duly came and and fixed the machine, it was a small problem.  However, we expected to pay, but where told their was a 7 year guarantee on Beko products.
We also have a Beko tumble drier here in Scotland and I would say it's the best one we have every had, no problems and work perfectly.   Had a Siemens oven that we paid a lot of money for and had nothing but trouble with it from the start it was a pain in the neck.  Cost us a fortune in Engineer call outs..  Dumped it.

Beko have had safety issues in the not too distant past.

We have a dishwasher that is Howdens own make (Lamona). I knew it was made by Beko but at £99.00 for a built in one I couldn't resist. Works fine and cleans well and if it packs up in a couple of years then we will pay a little more for a Bosch or something similar.
