2 tickets for one person for luggage allowance
« on: April 06, 2010, 20:25:36 PM »
Has anyone recently travelled with Thomas Cook (or indeed any other airline) where they have bought 2 tickets for just one person so they can get 2 luggage allowances? And did it work out OK - like the airline didn't just cancel second ticket when you got to check-in.

I'm coming out in a couple of weeks and will have 2 full suitcases. I don't fancy paying the TCX £10/kg excess baggage charge.

Not sure you could do this. Usually if a person doesn't turn up the luggage can't travel.

True, but I meant both tickets have my name on.

No you cant do that, the luggage allowance is per person, we had spare ticket last year and they still wanted to charge us for being over the allowance for the two of us.

.. but you would need to be two people to get the allowance. As you cannot split into 2 I think you would struggle.

Surely it is still cheaper to pay the excess Kg than pay for a ticket?   Alternative, you buy the ticket I use it (no luggage to bring to Turkey) and you use my allowance SORTED...lol

We are also coming out on Friday, do you mind me asking who you are flying with Jul Bri? we are with Onur Air and I have an email from them when we booked in Sept last year saying the luggage allowance was 20 kilo each, then tickets arrived which said 0 kilos when I phoned them they said it is 15 kilo, I am wondering wether to risk 20 kilo each and take a copy of the email with me!
