I have always wanted to, but always failed, to take that "special" photograph.
Others, over the years have successfully managed to capture that moment in time - an icon photograph.
Here's my starter. What's yours......

Can't work out how to attach it( may be the Glenfidich) but the young Vietnamese girl after the Yank napalm attack
-
This one GlennB - if so then yes -iconic indeed

yes that's the one depicts the innocent that get tied up in war, another that's just come to me is the horses after the Hyde Park bomb
-
Yes GlennB - a horrific image.

On a much cheerier note I vaguely remember a picture from my much younger days of a girl putting a flower in a marines gun, assume it was the flower power/ summer of love but to young to remember, honest

You keep crossing them GlennB -I'll keep heading them in :)
-
Far to good, I've been looking for it, I was 9 then so that picture lodged in my mind for half a century, an indication of the true power of an image
-
1989
Tiananem Square.
Chap in front of the tanks.
Easy cross for you John.....
Can't upload the picture!

Good choice Menthol! :'(
-
Totally agree marina - an iconic photograph if there ever was one Methol.
-
Sorry Methol ;) ;) ;)

This image comes to my mind every time I hear or read about Aleppo. This little boy must have lived through hell and is in complete shock. I cried the first time I saw this.

Now that is an iconic photograph, swindsor.
Mercifully, I understand that the little lad "recovered" fully. If you can ever recover from that trauma. :(
-
Another excellent choice swindsor, heartbreaking photo.
-
The trauma and the memories don't fade so quickly. But for the younger children, time will help. It's the older refugees that I really feel for. Everything they worked hard for all their lives taken away and their families scattered or killed.
I moan about my own life far less nowadays.

Isn't it a sad reflection on human life that the majority of photos that become icon depict tragedy or sad events
-
Then there's this one... . . .

Also, on a brighter note......
