Best route to Isparta
« on: July 06, 2011, 17:29:42 PM »
Anyone know, from experience of driving there?  I see there is one way, going on Denizli road for a bit then going above Isparta and arriving from 'north'.  But I am betting its a rugged tedious road.  Or from Kemer/Antalya arriving from the southern end.  Maybe there's a third option.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Preferrably someone who had experience of the route, rather than looking at a map.  Thanks

We have done the journey to Isparta we followed the Antalya road to Korkoteli then took the the D 650 towards Budur then turned right after Bujak following that road till we hit the D685 which takes you to Isparta. The roads were good and pretty quiet on that occasion. If we wanted to go direct to Isparta that is the journey we would take. There are a host of detours we took but we were on a tour of the Turkish Lakes. We find the Euro Map of Turkey the most accurate.

Smashing, thanks SO much.  If things go quiet for a week or two, you'll know I somehow went astray  ;)

Well, if it follows the same rules as driving to Antalya, it is 2.5 hours x 1.5 more for each time you do it :D

I hope I wont have to do it more than once.  Though I have been told there's a restaurant there that does the most fantastic crab meal, but Isparta looks like a biggish place and I bet I can't find it, *duh*.

Roughly 5 and a half to 6 hours driving. But of course you've got to add time to that for admiring the scenery and having a meal, or 2.
