10 cms here in Essex
-
Which area? Haven’t been out to measure it, but at least that yesterday and more on top now! Essex also. ;)
-
In Braintree Sadler seems like it was localised yesterday not much here but heavy in Colchester 8)
-
We are in Dovercourt. Only a field between us and the sea, with no hedges, so we got the full brunt of it. Love it! :)
-
Just a light dusting in Brum. Some of the dire warnings from the " experts " have been a farce, trains cancelled before a flake fell,
Government officials telling us we need to wrap up warm, nanny state gone mad.

Bragger.....I've not even had an inch lately. ;)
-
That made me chuckle, Mary. True to form. ;D
-
No snow here in Bristol - capital of what our boy Banksky calls "The Mild Mild West". However tomorrow Hilary is supposed to be flying to Edinburgh which looks like a very different prospect.
-
Good news snow story. Police caught a couple of thieves who had been stealing from cars ...................... by following their footprints in the snow. Doesn't that make you feel warmer? Ho, ho.
-
Made my day Colwyn ;D

First ever red alert for Scotland-nothing to do with Highlander :)

nothing to do with Highlander
How do you know? Or did he "persuade" you to say that?
-
Deep snow here in Helensburgh. Cleared my path 3xtimes today, all a waste of time. Absolutely love the snow though and was well prepared for the beast from the east......and that was just Mr. Toky. Well he is from Fife.....
-
Love the snow too. Been on and of all day, but seen far better. Bring it on.
-
No real snow yet (Devon) but looking forward to the time when my back garden looks as good as the neighbour's!
-
Can't even get my 4x4 off of the drive because of the ice here in North Wales.
-
Got around 12cm here in Glasgow with the same or more through the night.
Falling heavily at the moment, lovely to see when no one has disturbed it but hate the slushy mess it leaves behind
-
Not much here in Oxford at the moment but we have been warned that we are going to be snowed in very soooooon !!!
-
Has virtually passed us by this time - at least so far. :)
-
Lovely and sunny in fethiye this morning, Sorry cant get smileys.Ha Ha,
-
Well after the stop start of the last couple of days it's decided to lay this morning. -4 and a good few inches. I have to go out in it at some point grandbabies stay tonight and if I don't have the obligatory hot chocolate, muffins and quavers in they'll be disappointed.
-
We are snowed in. All roads have been closed by police. Schools on their third day of closure. Snug as a bug though. Lovely views. :)
-
Plenty of snow here in Calis. Just that its right on the top of Babadag. ;)

Magnificent piece of driving that averted a certain tragedy.

Lovely blue sky in your photo H. We are greyed out. Can hardly see across the road because of the snow coming down! :)

My little dog must be thanking me for getting him "done".
There are no paw prints in the snow, just a furrow where he makes his way around the garden.
Blizzard this afternoon and more expected.
Glorious Devon........

That's interesting, your wine plants are starting to push through even with a layer of snow. How are your spaghetti trees doing this year?
No snow for us, although further north in Galicia and the Basque Country they've been hit pretty hard, a number of fatalities being reported on Spanish news.
Our biggest issue is the rain - thirty six hours of solid rainfall which the infrastructure simply isn't designed for. Forecast not great for next few days but hopefully we wont see a repeat of October last year:

Incredibly, this was 100m or so away from our rental apartment, and our underground garage was as dry as bone!
What I will say though, is that the sirens etc have increased over the past couple of hours and the wind has also increased quite considerably with no let up with the rain, so maybe tomorrow we might have an indoor swimming pool instead of a garage :)

So it's been confirmed that Dingwall has been sublime these last few days ;) ;) ;)
-
Are you still trying to persuade us that "Dingwall" is a real place? Is it in the land where the Bong-Tree grows? Is there a Piggy-Wig standing in the wood?
-
Wow......Dingwall sounds a delightful place must put it on our bucket list ;D :D
-
It does have a very entertaining Indian restaurant
-
Sublimation is described as the conversion between a solid and the gas phases of matter, with no intermediate liquid stage.
It is most often used to describe the process of snow and ice changing into water vapour in the air without first melting into water.
It did snow in Dingwall but the wind has dried it up. There is no dampness.
This according to a former geography at Dingwall High school who gave evening lectures for 30 years for Aberdeen University.
Hey, I'm only the messenger. :)

Patelvis is a class act :)

Sublimation is described as the conversion between a solid and the gas phases of matter, with no intermediate liquid stage.
It also means a condition where "socially unacceptable impulses or idealizations are unconsciously transformed into socially acceptable actions or behavior" (Wikipedia). That sounds more like the mythical Dingwall to me.

We had approx' 18 inches of snow in our part of Brrrrrrum overnight. The Milkman, for the first time in 40 plus years, didn't get to us
and none of the cars in our road have moved. Certainly warmer today though. Sublime even.
-
Well we were hit hard here in Helensburgh and no thanks to Argyll & Bute Council, we got ourselves dug out last night. Here are some of our photos. the snow at side path is 2.5 deep, and as you can see, my main path was so deep it was up to my knees. My car is under that snow somewhere too. The other one is our main train line. Guess the trains were cancelled!

OMG toky - hope you have plenty of supplies and that your heating was not affected.
-
Gosh Toky, hope you have seen the last of the snowfall now. We have just started again, was hoping it was finished. Thank God ours no where near that amount. Wrap up warm everyone x
-
I did a big shop on Monday evening in antisipation of the well documented snow s.torm approaching, so we've had plenty supplies. Others not so fortunate around here and supermarket shelves are empty

Plenty of bread in our Tesco; no milk. I'm really looking forward to getting rid of this snow and replacing it with floods. Ain't Spring grand!

It's being reported that they are now surviving on deep fried battered Mars bars.
