Fethiyespor kicked off their new season campaign last Sunday with a 2-1 away defeat to last season's runners-up Bandirmaspor.Substitute Emre Yildirim getting Fethiye's only goal 7 minutes from the end. This Sunday sees the first home game against newly promoted Hatayspor. Also a chance to see the re-vamped team with half of last seasons team moving on ,along with manager Bayram Caliskan.Kick off for Sundays game is 7.00pm as is the next home match against Pendikspor on the 30th of September.

Fethiye are still looking for their first points of the season as they fell to a 3-2 home defeat to new boys Hatay this evening.Despite taking the lead from a corner on the half an hour mark,Sari scoring, two goals in 10 minutes before half time gave Hatay a deserved lead. Substitute Ilkay Demir levelled the score just minutes after coming on but Hatay restored their lead with 15 minutes to go.So Fethiye are one of three teams at the bottom of the table pointless after 2 games. An away match next week against another of the promoted teams Nazilli Belediyespor.

Unfortunately I was unable to go on Sunday but will go on the 30th of this month and very frequently from Febuary onwards, but tell me Yabanci ? is the proposed new 12.000 all seater stadium going to materialise in the future ( photograph in local newspapers ) or was it all `paper talk` and it isn`t and probably never will happen ? :-\

Your guess is as good as mine Sleuth. Talk of a new stadium has been going on for 2-3 years now without anything happening.Perhaps it all depends on if the club achieves promotion.

If they play like they did on Sunday they can forget promotion but it's early in the season so who knows. Personally I thought they were lucky to get away with a 2-3 defeat.

Fethiye improved on their performance of last week to come away from Nazilli with a 2-0 victory this afternoon.Helped by playing against 10 men for the last hour,Fethiye scored twice in 5 minutes early in the second half to claim their first points of the season and move up the table to 10th.

Fethiyespor eased into the next round of the Ziraat Cup with a comfortable 5-0 win against the part-timers from Cizre this afternoon.Only 1-0 up at half time and missing a penalty ,the game was made safe with a second half hat-rick from forward Volkan Kabadayi. The visitors also finished the game with only 10 men.

Fethiyespor fell to their 2nd home defeat of the season, under the floodlights last night.Goals in injury time in both halfs handed Pendikspor a 3-2 victory, their 1st win of the season.Ekrem Saricam scored twice for Fethiye as they came from behind twice, but they were caught out in the 92nd minute when Pendik broke away to score the winner.Fethiye down to 12th now, so returning manager Mr.Sozleri looks to have his work cut out this season to improve on last years performance.
Away next week to another of the promoted clubs Kahramanmaras who are currently 2nd in the league.
Title: Re: Fethiyespor 2012/13
Post by: yabanci on October 07, 2012, 15:53:50 PM
Fethiyespor made it 4 defeats from 5 games this season as they lost 2-1 away to Kahramanmaras.Although Ekrem Saricam equalised early in the 2nd half a goal 5 minutes from time was enough to send the home team top of the league and Fethiye down to 14th.
Home to Sakaryaspor who are bottom next Sunday. 3.00pm KO.
Title: Re: Fethiyespor 2012/13
Post by: yabanci on October 14, 2012, 20:16:18 PM
A fine performance from Fethiyespor this afternoon saw them gain their 1st home win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Sakaryaspor.Fethiye had to play most of the game with 10 men after Sabri Gumussoy received a red card for a clumsy tackle on a Sakarya player when clean through on goal. However that setback stirred the home team up and 5 minutes later Volkan Kabadayi made it 1-0.On the stroke of half time the referee increased his popularity with the home fans by awarding the visitors a penalty which was well saved by keeper Ozturk.
The 2nd half came to life in the 66th minute when Sakarya were reduced to 10 men following an altercation in the visitors penalty area.Again 5 minutes later Kabadayi made it 2-0 with a 3rd coming on 80 minutes from the exellent Ekrem Saricam.Sakaryaspor did manage a goal back 2 minutes later but Fethiye took the 3 points to move up to 11th in the table.

Title: Re: Fethiyespor 2012/13
Post by: Sleuth on October 15, 2012, 07:17:29 AM
Yes, we enjoyed the game also, but unfortunately  the ugly scenes outside the ground spoilt the occasion ... we wondered why there was a large police presence  with sheilds  in the stadium... and were disappointed to see large gangs of fethiye fans              ( teenagers) running around outside the stadium picking up chunks of rocks  and trying to chase after the `away` coaches to hurl the rocks at them  :(         not good  :(  and reminded  me of the 1970`s  football hooliganisms in England  >:(
In fairness to Fethiye ,thats the first hint of violance I have witnessed there on  the 4 occasions I have watched them.  But heres an interesting observation... alcohol is always blamed on any violance in the english football grounds in or outside the stadiums... but yesterday at  fethiye  those kids and their threatening behaviour wasnt alcohol  related ???
hope we dont witness those incidents again.. I took a friend with me yesterday for his first time, and not sure if he will go again now as witnessing those unpleasent scenes yesterday did sour the afternoon  somewhat  :(         Yabanci ??  does this happen very regularly at the stadium ? or was this a `one off` ?    as surely regular scenes like that will wreck any chances of a new stadium being built

In 5 years of watching Fethiyespor matches the only time I have witnessed crowd trouble was at the Goztepe match about 3 years ago.Your more likely to see a punch up between disgruntled home fans as on the whole away fans in such numbers as Sunday's match are a rarity due to the vast travel distances involved in Turkey.
In the draw for the 3rd round of the Ziraat Cup Fethiye have been drawn away to Altay of Izmir who are currently 2nd in the White Group of League 2. The match is on the 31st October.
Also Fethiye's next home match against Sariyer on October 28th has been MOVED to Mugla's Ataturk Stadium due to pitch maintenance.KO is 13.30.

When we entered the match there was an older Turkish man at the turnstyle shouting and flailing about and arguing with everyone around.
Eventualyy 2 policemen strolled over and kept patting him on the back saying "Ali" . He threw a botlle of water at them but still they did not rise just patted him in to the ground. I'm sure if it was you or I it would have been a different story!

Fethiyespor picked up a useful away point this afternoon with a 2-2 draw at Giresunspor. Leading 2-1 with goals from Okan and Kabakci the hosts managed to draw level 5 minutes from time.Fethiye in 10th place on 7 points now.The home game against Sariyer next Sunday is being played in Mugla with a 1.30pm KO.

Fethiyespor extended their unbeaten league run to 4 games with a 2-0 victory away to Tarsus this afternoon. Two 2nd half goals from Ekram Saricam gave Fethiye the 3 points to take them up to 9th in the league on 11 points.A tougher home match awaits next week as Fethiye take on current league leaders and also unbeaten this season, Polatli Bugsas-spor.

Fethiyespor's unbeaten run in the league came to an end this afternoon with a 2-1 defeat against Polatli Bugsas-spor. The visitors from Ankara were somewhat fortunate to go into the half time break 1-0 up,the goal coming from a free kick just before the break.Fethiye were by far the better team and had the better chances.Bugsas had a penalty saved in the 2nd half before making it 2-0 on 70 minutes.Onur Okan ,also scored from a free kick on 89 minutes but Bugsas saw the 4 mins of added time out to remain top of the league and unbeaten.
Fethiye are away in mid-week to Unyespor who are just below them in the league. Then on Sunday they are at home again, to 3rd placed Cankirispor.

New coach Mustafa Ceviz got off to a winning start with Fethiyespor this afternoon.Taking over from Erkan Sozleri who resigned just before the Bugsas game last week he inspired the team to a 1-0 victory against a poor Cankirispor team.A Volkan Kabadayi header on the hour mark was enough to earn the 3 points but Fethiye should have won by more. This moves Fethiye up to 9th in the league,on 15 points.Away next weekend to Tepecikspor who are just 1 point and 2 places above Fethiye.

The new boss made it 2 wins out of 2 as Fethiyespor managed another 1-0 win, away at Tepecikspor this afternoon.Onur Okan scored with a penalty, right on half time which also resulted in a red card for one of Tepecik's defenders.Fethiye move up to 6th with this win and have a home game to come next Sunday against Turgutluspor.

Fethiyespor recorded their biggest win of the season with a 5-0 thumping of Turgutluspor this afternoon. Two goals each for Hasan Sari and Ekrem Saricam ,and a 5th from Onur Okan gave Fethiye another 3 points to put them 5th in the league.Fethiye are now on 21 points, only 5 points behind leaders Bugsas. No game next week as its Fethiye's bye week.

An away day in Istanbul brought another 3 points for Fethiyespor this afternoon with a 2-0 victory against Gungorenspor.Hasan Sari scored early in the first half and substitute Emre Yildirim scored 4 minutes from time.Fethiye are back up to 5th in the league with 24 points and have a home game against Bozuyukspor next Sunday, who they beat on penalties in last seasons play-off semi final.

Fethiyespor went into their winter break with a 1-0 home win over Bozuyukspor on Sunday. The match went ahead after a pitch inspection but the playing conditions were awful due to heavy rain.Onur Okan getting the game's only goal just before half time.Thats 5 wins out of 5 for new boss Mustapha Ceviz and Fethiye move up to 3rd on 27 points.
Next game is on the 27th January at home to Bandirmaspor.

Although bad weather in the winter doesnt help  the size of the crowd, with the ground being mainly open to the elements,it is how well the team is doing that seems to have a bearing on the size of the crowd more.
Anyone wanting to catch a home game in the second half of the season,the fixtures are as follows;

27th Jan- Bandirmaspor
10th Feb-Nazilli Bld
24th Feb-Kahramanmaraspor
10th Mar-Giresunspor
24th Mar-Tarsus
3rd  Apr- Unyespor
14th Apr-Tepecikspor
5th  May-Gungorunspor

League 2 football returns to the Fethiye Stadium tomorrow after the Winter Break with Fethiyespor hosting Bandirmaspor, KO 1.30 pm.Fethiye will be looking to avenge their 2-1 defeat to Bandirmaspor in the first match of this season and to try and make it 6 wins from the last 6 games.
10 new players have come in during the Transfer Window and 4 departed. The most interesting of the new signings is 27 year old Cem Atan,a right sided midfielder who played 137 times for Austrian Premier Lg side SV Mattersburg and gained 2 full international caps for Austria in 2007.However he injured his leg whilst at the clubs Antalya training camp and is out for a month.
Fethiyespor sit currently 3rd in the league on 27 points,4 points behind leaders Bugsaspor.

Fethiyespor only managed a 1-1 draw this afternoon against Bandirmaspor.Having just the better of the 1st half Fethiye went ahead with a Murat Turkkan header just on half time.Hasan Sari smashed a shot against the post early in the 2nd half but heavy rain made the 2nd half scrappy.Bandirmaspor were awarded a soft penalty for a push, on the hour mark which was converted. The point was enough to keep Fethiye in 3rd place in the league and next week they are away to 2nd place Hatayspor.

Fethiyespor managed a hard fought 1-0 win over Nazilli this afternoon.Fethiye bossed the first half with midfielders Ekrem Sarigam and Ugur Aktas a constant threat, and it was Aktas who scored after 10 minutes.Second half Fethiye looked to be content to sit on their lead and let the visitors come at them. However, they managed to hold on and even spurned 2 good chances right at the end.Fethiye move up to 3rd, 4 points behind leaders Bugsas.

Simon and I were there today and it was certainly a game of two halves, should have gone in at half time at least 4-0 up, second half they were all asleep and looked like they may lose the 3 points, best bit was the Fethiye players having a slap at one another ;D

Fethiyespor crashed to their biggest defeat of the season losing 0-3 to Kahramanmaras this afternoon. This was Fethiye's first defeat since 11th November,11 games ago and also the 2nd time they had lost to their visitors this season. An inept 1st half performance saw Fethiye 2 goals down by half time and down to 10 men after the ineffectual Halil Karatas got into the referee's book twice.
Fethiye played better in the 2nd half without him creating several chances but the final ball was all too often misplaced.Kahramanmaras added a 3rd in injury time to leapfrog Fethiye in the table.Fethiye away next week to bottom side Sakaryaspor.

Fethiyespor came from behind twice this afternoon to rescue a point away at Sakaryaspor.Goals from Saricam in the 49th minute and Aktas in the 89th saw Fethiye stay in 5th place in the table. However they lose ground on leaders Bugsas who are now 6 points better off having played a game less.Fethiye are at home next week to lowly Giresunspor.
Title: Re: Fethiyespor 2012/13

A much improved performance from the last home game saw Fethiyespor beat lowly Giresunspor 4-0 this afternoon.Top scorer Ekram Sarigam put the home side 1-0 up mid-way through the 1st half. However Fethiye had to wait until 7 minutes from time before they made the game safe.Sarigam scored 2 more and substitute Alican Karadag scored his first for the club.
With none of the Top 4 sides winning today Fethiye move up to 4th on 39 points, just 3 points behind leaders Bugsas.Fethiye are away to Sariyer next weekend.

Yes I  went today....  we should have been 2-0 up in added on time at half time   :-)  .. but they made up for it in second half and it could quite easily have been 5/6  nil.

I'm informed it is the 80th anniversary of Fethiyespor (they started on 23 March 1933) and the game (against Tarsusspor) will be televised on Lig TV.

It starts at 13:30 as already mentioned, tickets are 5 or 10 lira - here's the blog post they wrote about it a couple of weeks ago (Turkish)

Fethiyespor nearly had their 80th Birthday Party spoiled this afternoon by a well organised  and in form Tarsus side. The visitors had won their last 3 matches but were behind mid-way through the 1st half when Emre Ozturk opened the scoring after good work down the right from Cem Atan.Right on half time Sabri Gumussoy thundered a shot against the crossbar.
However early in the 2nd half Tarsus equalised from a corner, whilst down to 10 men ,due to an injury. After that Fethiye struggled to break their visitors down and the game looked to be heading for a 1-1 draw, but with injury time approaching Emre Ozturk scrambled in his second goal to the delight of the big home crowd.A minute later Ugur Aktas scored the 3rd to put the icing on Fethiye's Birthday Cake.
The win lifts Fethiye up to 3rd in the league,4 points behind new leaders Kahramanmaraspor who were the only other winners today in the top 5. Away next weekend to 4th placed Polati Bugsas.

Late goals again in a Fethiyespor match this afternoon in Ankara. Bugsasspor looked to have dented Fethiye's promotion hopes with an 89th minute goal, only for Onur Okan to equalise with a 92nd minute penalty. That point keeps Fethiye in 3rd and with the top two both losing today Fethiye are just 3 points behind the leaders.A mid-week home match on Wednesday against 2nd from bottom Unyespor.K.O. 14.30.

Fethiyespor beat lowly Unyespor 3-0 this afternoon and move up to 2nd place in their league.Top scorer Ekrem Saricam made it 14 goals for the season scoring in the 13th and 80th minutes whilst Onur Okan scored from a free-kick with a minute of normal time remaining.Fethiye are 3 points behind leaders Kahramanmanaspor and are away to 7th placed Cankirispor this weekend.

Yes .. I  watched the match yesterday ..  yabanci please  tell me ?  most of yesterdays attendance at the ground ( 2.500 at least ) seemed to be the whole teenage population of Fethiye   :-)  were they allowed free admission into the ground ? or what was the occasion ?     whatever it was was a good idea as it filled the place.  I wish my UK  team Cheltenham Town tried something similar and let local kids in for virtually nothing or very cheaply they might then  fill the empty seats and create a better atmosphere at home matches

Two goals in four minutes, just before half time were enough to give Fethiyespor another 3 points this afternoon against Cankirispor. The hosts went ahead after 5 minutes but goals from Emre Ozturk and Sabri Gumussoy won the game for Fethiye who are now joint top with Kahramanmaspor on 49 points each, but Fethiye have played a game more.
A home game next week against promotion hopefuls Tepecikspor who are currently 4th in the league, 3 points behind the leaders.

Fethiyespor's automatic promotion hopes took a knock this afternoon with a 3-2 home defeat against Tepecikspor. After a fairly even first half hour the visitors better passing game took hold and two goals within 4 minutes knocked Fethiye back.Early in the 2nd half Murrat Turkkan had a header ruled out for offside before an Onur Okan penalty made it 2-1 on 65 minutes.Lively substitute Ugar Aktas made it 2-2 with 12 minutes to go.However that was as good as it got for Fethiye as poor marking on the back post from a corner saw Tepecik snatch victory 7 minutes from time.Fethiye down to 3rd now, but are only 1 point behind Kahramanmarspor and Bugsas, but have played a game more.Fethiye are away next weekend at Turgutluspor.

Fethiyespor could only manage a 1-1 draw this afternoon, away to mid-table Turgutlu. With only leaders Kahramanmaras winning today out of the top 7 teams,Fethiye remain 3rd in the league,3 points behind the leaders. No game for Fethiye next weekend as its their bye week.
Title: Re: Fethiyespor 2012/13
Post by: yabanci on April 29, 2013, 11:28:48 AM
Fethiyespor saw their automatic promotion hopes ended without kicking a ball yesterday as leaders Kahramanmaraspor won 3-0 at home to put 6 points between them and Fethiye with only 2 games to play.The table as it stands;
1/ Kahran....30-56
2/Bugsas.....30-52
3/Tepecik.....30-51
4/Fethiye.....30-50
5/Hatay.......30-49
6/Nazilli........30-47
Fethiye host lowly Gungorenspor from Istanbul on Sunday which is the last home game of the season.A win should also guarantee a play-off place for the second season running.K.O. 15.30.

The play-offs are on a one match knock-out basis between the 8 clubs that finished 2nd-5th in the two groups of Lig 2,and are held at a neutral venue.Last season it was at Denizli's stadium between May 24th and May 31st.

A goal mid way through the first half from Emre Ozturk gave Fethiye the 3 points needed to confirm their play-off place.Fethiye up to 3rd on 53 points with an away match at Bozuyukspor to come next weekend.

The club have announced that the Lig 2 play-offs will again be held at Denizlispor's ground between the 20th and 28th of May.
As of today its all change to the Lig 2 play-offs.The Turkish Football Federation have not allowed Bugsasspor who finished 3rd in Fethiye's league to take part in the play-offs and Nazilli who finished 6th, level on points with Fethiye will take their place. This has also led to a change of Stadium from Denizli to Konya, and to a change of dates with the games now taking place between May 23rd and May 31st.The draw for the playoff games will take place on Monday.

Think they might need it H. Fethiyespor go into their semi-final play off match against Yeni Malatyaspor with a long injury list.Already without captain Murat Turkkan who has broken ribs,Fridays goalscorer Onur Okan is a major doubt having been taken to hospital with an ankle injury.Top scorer Ekram Saricam, defensive linchpin Sabri Turgut plus Karadag and Kaba who all started on Friday have all been having intensive treatment for various injuries.
Malatyaspor are looking for back to back play off victories, having won Lig 3's last season and achieved the highest amount of league points (58) out of all 8 play-off teams.
KO is 8.00pm tonight with the winners facing Hatayspor in Friday's final.

Yeni Malatya were reduced to 10 men before strikes from Kabadayi and Saricam made it 4-2  for Fethiye and a place in Fridays final against Hatayspor.  :)

After an 80 year wait Fethiyespor can finally look forward to playing Lig 1 football next season. However it didn't look like that would happen after Hatay took the lead after only 2 minutes of tonights match. However Fethiye fought back and equalised through top scorer Ekram Saricam after 20 minutes. Tonights hero was sub Volkan Kabadayi who fired home on 89 mins to make it 2-1 and despite some nervous moments well into Fergie Time ,Fethiye managed to hang on, and go one better than last season where they lost in the play off final to Adana.

Well done to Simon for your marathon coach journey.I hope you enjoyed the song they played for you.   ;)Finally I think Fethiye have a good chance of staying up.
