:) We hav'nt done bad on the signings. we have two hungry young players who WANT to be here, Nando wanted to go, no point in trying to keep him against his will, alot of money, I know, but on balance we have spent 1.8 million, not a bad day in the office. ;)

Laffs,

It wasn't that long ago that Carroll was spouting off about being Newcastle through and through, boy supporter of the club and living the dream playing for them........That lasted didn't it!!!

There is no loyalty in football, from the supporters yes but not the players. Why should there be though? at the end of the day it is their job and it would be no different to you or I being offered a better position with another company for more money blah blah!

Players only want to be at a club until a better offer comes along, it is only the very few that have the type of loyalty we remember from years gone by.

How I'd love to see Jamie Carraghar play and give Torres a good old fashion "I'm here son" tackle:D

Chopper Harris springs to mind, Tink. A consummate professional. By his own admission, his manager told him to stop the opposition playing by any means he thought fit and that's exactly what he did :)

PS I went to a "do" where Terry Butcher was speaking and when asked what he missed most about playing he instantly replied " hurting people, hearing the sound of bones crunching"

Roy Keane said that Brian Clough told him his job was to get the ball back from the opposition by whatever means and pass it to someone who knew what to do with it. Keane claims to have taken that advice and made a career out of exactly that.
