I wonder if anyone has any knowledge of this subject please.
I know that generally, a UK will does not cover property owned overseas, and the general advice is to "make a will in the country where the property is owned".
However, I seem to remember reading somewhere that in Turkey the law is such that the property automatically goes down the bloodline. Not sure if that is correct, or how it works if it is. I also remember being told when we bought 18 years ago, that an English will would cover it, but not sure about that either.
We own a property in Ovacik in our joint names (husband and wife) and would simply want the ownership to pass to the survivor, and then down to our three adult sons.
Does anyone know if that is "automatic" or do we actually need a Turkish will to achieve that.
Would be grateful for any advice.
