Hi , Has anyone had any dealings with "Steelbird Aviation" Cargo Handlers at Antalya Airport. We are flying in to Antalya on the 15th Feb from Glasgow with our Dog for onward travel to Calis. All we have is a Phone number and address to contact on arrival. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Angie.

Always try and take your pets as excess baggage. Works out so much cheaper. Also if you have to send them by cargo just make sure you time the flights so they arrive at a decent time and not say at 5pm on a Friday or they will remain in customs till monday.

Thanks for the info , Unfortunately we cannot get our dog as excess baggage with Thomas Cook, we did enquire, but were put onto one of there recognised handlers.

We have just arrived over a week ago and we took our large dog - we flew with Thomas Cook to Antalya and we were advised to use Thomas Cook Handling Agent - Animal Airlines, which I have to say were fantastic at Gatwick Airport.  Our dog had a very large wooden container and it cost us £1200!! we were only £95 each.
Can't fault them though they were extremely helpful from start to finish and all the correct paperwork arrived on time as they said it would.  No problem either when we landed in Turkey - we heard some horror stories before we came over but I have none to tell you.  Our dog was pushed through some swing doors marked 'oversized baggage' and he was as happy as larry!! Hope this helps? you just need to get a quote from them - Thomas Cook Airlines will give you their tel number - best of luck.

We brought our Senegal parrot over last year.We got a specialist pet exporter to do all the nessasary paperwork, liason with vet, arrange box for transportation. We were then met at airport on the day and bird checked in.My wife was frantic with worry as the bird was in the hold but he arrived at Dalaman safe and sound.Woody loves his new life here he looks happier and healthier than he ever did in England.

We are also using Animal Airlines to bring our animals over with us when we move in April. It has cost us £1400 for our large dog and 2 cats. They have been absolutely fantastic and have taken a great deal of trouble to answer all of our - sometimes very stupid questions. Would highly recommend them for their excellent communication and patience. Obviously yet to see that the transfers go smoothly.
