Title: Tuzla - Muhtar (changed)
Post by: Ian on February 24, 2010, 08:55:52 AM
Hi - has anyone actually met with the local Muhtar?
PATLANGIÇ MAHALLESi. KADiR DAL.

I wondered if he was easy to approach (I have a phone number) in order to get a signature / form completed for a residency permit?

I believe it is tradition to provide a decent bottle of Raki but I have heard that some can be more demanding???

Anyone had any experience of this particular chap?

Ian

Ian
When I got residency 2 years ago, when the Patlangic Muhtar checked the address, we were told this street is not under Patlangic. We had to go to the Tuzla Muhtar instead, the paer work was done there, at a table in the back of a shop. Hope this helps

As I remember, I was told just to leave a small donation, and only
if he sort of waited and expected something, for the life of me now,
can't be sure if I did.

I went to the Muhtar office in Gunlukbasi near the wedding circle just 6 weeks ago! I payed 10 lira for the paper work(for residency) to be signed and stamped by him! Was in and out in 5 minutes!
Not sure if same guy but surely they charge the same prices! x

Lisa-marie - you would think so but I read in the past few days about one (I think it was in Bodrum) who asked for something like 583 euros and then settled for 20 lira - wonderful!!!!

Thank you for your e-mail - it gives me a "guide price".

the local muhtars are paid by the government for their work,
you shoudnt have to pay anything except a nominal fee for paperwork
