E Visa update
« on: February 04, 2014, 08:14:17 AM »
It looks like you will be able to get a tourist visa on arrival in Turkey for the 2014 tourist season see http://www.yellali.com/news/article/46/press-release-regarding-evisa-ministry-of-foreign-affairs

From a very bright sunny morning in the Kaya valley.

I've just purchased e-Visas for my Mum and daughter for when we fly out on Tuesday next week into Antalya. (Found the system a bit 'clunky' ).

Just wondered if anyone has used an e-Visa recently to get into Antalya or Dalaman yet and how it went? Heard that last year some passport control staff were refusing the e-Visas.

We used Evisa in November at Dalaman, no problems at all. Jim is a Uk citizen and I am South African. Using the same Evisa next month.

After arriving at Antalya this evening and having all six people ahead of me in the passport control queue unaware that they even needed a visa, I think the automated machines will be busy for some time....

So if you arrive in dalaman prior to 11th April.....is there no longer an option to purchase a £10 visa at the man operated kiosk?  Pardon my ignorance....I can see you talk about automated machines in Antalya, but is this now the same for dalaman...and I thought none of this was coming into effect until 10th April, so assumed it would be the of system and old fee until then....

I would be amazed if they didn't have 'The Man And His Sticky Visas Kiosk' at Dalaman for the remainder of the year.

I have booked many flights online over the last 12 months and not once have I been prompted to purchase an eVisa. My last flight purchase was a week ago and still no prompt.

Can't imagine too many people travelling to Turkey this year know anything about it. Like WordBird said, some people don't know you need any kind of visa for Turkey, electronic or otherwise.

However, this is Turkiye.  8)

Bought Visas for this year off the web site on Tuesday. They showed on my card statement at £12.33 each including all charges etc.

May be a couple of pounds more than the old stamps, but it only took 5 minutes and beats queuing at Dalaman for sure.
