Title: Billy's Beach
Post by: tribalelder on May 14, 2009, 08:34:51 AM
Good news and bad news. For any fans of Joseph's beach and bar is the bad news.....It doesn't exist any more and has been demolished!  The good news is that Billy's Beach has now expanded and looks absolutely great. The restaurant and bar area has been totally rebuilt and is much bigger. The menu is also being extended this week from the brand new kitchens.
Bilal tells me he is also hoping to open one or two nights a week as well for barbecues etc.
Recommended but please be quiet and don't disturb my peace unless you are buying me an Efes:D

Hi tribalelder where abouts is Billys beach? Is it further down as you head towards St Nicks' beach? Would like to visit, and dont worry i will buy you an Efes or 2 to keep you sweet!  ;) 8)

Hi Suemac.....yes he does but there is some agro at the moment between the Taxi Drivers and those offering free transfers......similar I suppose to Dalaman Airport last year.  As mentioned in an earlier post you can always get the Dolmus from Fethiye to take you all the way there at no extra cost if there continues to be a problem.

I will try and get some piccys for you next time I go.:D

cheers.  Its just that with 8 or 9 of us, a pram and the usual buckets and spades, the freebie transfer service offered by Sugar is a godsend to us....we have a bit of a walk for a dolmus and its hard to get us all on one at the same time! So transfer services are always very very welcome. look forward to some piccys, but make sure its before next Friday cos Im out myself then!! :): :) :)

We have been going to Billy,s Beach for many years now, and I cannot sing its (or Bilal's) praises loud enough. Bilal has become a good friend of ours, and a more genuine person you could not wish to meet. Before we bought our apartment in Fethiye, we even stayed in his 'bungalows' on the beach, and we still spend most of our days there when we come over.
I truly hope that the expansion of Billy's Beach does not detract from the intamacy that has made his beach so popular, and we will be the first to wish him every success for the future.

Ian and Tricia

We have also used Bilal's place for many years - absolutely love the place - even in winter when there is not a soul there!!!

Think the BBQ for night time is a belting idea - will defo do that one.
Wish Bilal and his staff all the very best for the coming season - be out there from 29 May for 2 whole weeks.

Can you drive their & park the car?
If I drive into Olu Deniz and go as far as I can towards the sea do I then turn right & carry on along there towards the lagoon, is Billy's beach on the lagoon?

Yes Lorraine, you should have no problem finding it.  It's well worth a visit, I actually much prefer it to Sugar Beach

Joseph's was alive and bouncing on my visit last week.
Dancin' on the bar on our last night!
Genuine nice guy and a lovely team (mostly family I believe)Finished off each day there.
..............It may well be demolished after our partying.(probably by fire; barman's party piece) We gave Scarletts a run for their money.

Joseph's gone from Olu Deniz ? He's been there for about 20 years, regularly bringing his staff from the east with him. Maybe gone elsewhere ?
