Title: Electric boiler
Post by: trainer on March 15, 2019, 20:17:27 PM
I have an electric boiler that is over 12 years old and I was wondering whether to get a new one or stick with this until it dies so some questions
will a new boiler give me better water pressure the one I have is OK but not great
will a new boiler give me more capacity the one I have we get about 2-3 showers out of it then it goes cold
will a new boiler give me better economy

Thanks in advance

Hi Trainer,

it will depend on the specificatioin of the existing and replacement boilers but I would suggest:

Pressure - this is nothing to do with the boiler. Pressure is related to the height of the boiler above ground and in some cases the incoming water pressure is also a factor.
Capacity - yes - IF the replacement boiler is a larger storage capacity then the existing one.
Economy - maybe. New boiler will probably be a little more efficient - but that may be negated if you have a larger capacity as there is more water to keep hot.
