Title: Free flight?
Post by: stoop on November 09, 2016, 17:10:48 PM
You can win these as I got one yesterday after about 50 attempts. You win one flight for a winter 2017/18 destination, including baggage.

Might be interesting for some:

I did this from an email today. Didn't win the flights but still got a code for £60 off a holiday   :)

I've just won a free return flight and Mrs KKOB has won a £60 discount.

I'll have to try again for the flight!

I think it's only one flight per household but even so it's pretty good. Just keep trying.

Me too, but it says try next week.

Despite numerous 10/10 scores I failed to get anything but a discount.

Eventually, as with Bernie, the machine told me to try again next week.

Same with me - I didn't appreciate the voucher prize either - we flew from Dalaman last month and they were giving the code to everyone as they left the plane.

I got the free flight on the first attempt. Must admit though, I Googled some of the pictures to get the correct answers.

Is it definitely a free flight or are you just entered into a draw for a free flight?

I'll let you know when I land.  ;)

I are you sure landing is covered? Or just take-off?

I'm cynical enough to realise that there's a catch somewhere. Once I've had time to pore over the T&C's I'll let you know whether or not I'll even be departing.

I think the catches are:

1. Only one flight per household - so they expect you might buy a second one.

2. Only for winter 2017/18 - which after tweeting them I found out is 01/11 to March.

"Hello Stoopo, generally the Winter season starts in November and ends in March. Hope this helps, Dani"

Other than that I don't think there are any more. Baggage included - but not seats or speedy boarding.

I suppose the time to tell is when we ring up to actually book a flight. I wonder how many flights will be full/not available from your preferred departure airport?

We won one flight tried to book a flight to Dalaman for next Sept/Oct. Very limited flights, Outbound 3rd Oct, inbound 26th Sept. So we would have to come back before we even left. They did say they had some for May, but we have already booked with EasyJet.

We had to change the date we wanted from the 12th to the 16th but as we are retired it wasn't a problem Other flight dates are limited...

At last!

Free return flight.

After many attempts.

Haven't booked anything yet - checking terms etc. for expiry date.

It seems, on first lookings that 2 people must travel.

Sorry - forgot to thank you, Stoop.

Waited for ages to speak to an operator at Jet2.

Seems that I have to wait for an email to determine which flights I can get free.

Looking for MAN to DLM in May but no confirmation that it would be in the list of flights available to me.

Ah well - we'll see.......

Stuart - Why do you need to speak to a Jet2 operator?

After winning, they give an 0800 number to phone in order to determine which flights are available to book.

The lady I spoke to was "training" and said I had to wait for an email to advise which flights I could take.

No email yet.....

Mercury seems to have sorted things already - hopefully he ahs a better idea than I!

Appears as though this competition is closed now...as the 20000 flights have all now been allocated.

They (Jet2) are now running another competition, similar format if you answer ten questions correctly you will be entered into a draw to win a 5* packaged holiday.  :)

I got 10/10 about 30 times

No free flight

I did however get a paid for seat last month with the screamiest kickiest child in the World behind me, and the skankiest, foul mouthed Manc family on the planet telling their child to "fookin sit dahn" for 4 and a half hours.

So I suppose we're all winners with Jet2 - thank you.

Funny I was told Nov - March as they are winter flights only.

Did they only offer winter flights Mercury?

Just come off the phone with Jet2 "winners line".

I can get a free return flight between 1st November 2017 and 31st March 2018 (excluding New York) as long as seats are available.

Alternatively, I can get £200 off a package holiday FOR TWO or £100 off if travelling alone, during their summer schedule 2017. This is the option that the operator seemed keen to encourage (more money for them, of course).

Leeds/Bradford is their main hub and most destinations are served from there.

I'd prefer a quick hop from Exeter to Manchester and get a European flight from there.

Decision has to be made by 16th December 2016.

I think that's about it for now....checking timetables etc.
