Jewelry Shop Recommendations Please
« on: November 22, 2013, 17:21:19 PM »
Now that Gurbuz has moved to the UK, we are looking for an honest jeweller in Fethiye. Can anyone give us a steer please.

I've tried the search but quite a lot of posts on this subject are quite old and things do change.

We always go to Infinity in Oludeniz.

Don't know about their Fethiye shop or indeed their Calis one.

We use Sedat at Zumrut who is Gurbuz's nephew, but I think he is closed in Winter too.  There is also a little shop down the alley before you get to the Guitar Bar.  They do repairs and also will make items from scratch. I am not sure if they are open in Winter, but I know a lot of the Jewellery shops use them.

Nope Jacqui, went down there last week, I wanted to see the rabbit that sleeps in the dog kennel and both shops were closed up.

For nearly 30  years we have used  a jeweller in Fethiye and found him to be very honest.  Erdal Karaoren in the old town just by one of the fish market entrances.

I saw Edi today and he asked me to let everyone know that his silver shop is going to be open from 8th December for people wanting to buy Christmas presents, then will close after Christmas.

Can recommend Edi, lovely guy.  We went into his shop after visiting Meeting Point and bought a lovely necklace as a gift, he had no change and trusted us to come back with the balance the next day.  That was last June. In September we visited again and bought a really charming little necklace for our Granddaughter.  His prices are excellent and much cheaper than the silver you buy in the U.K. and all his pieces are stamped.
