Big Fairy !

Now I consider myself to be an astute shopper - almost as good as Jacqui - so when out in one of my favourite shops - The Ucuz Shop or it is also called The 1yi Shop (same side as Eren Spot about 500 yds towards town on the corner) - I saw a 1.5 litre of Fairy Liquid at 6.95 lira so I dived in and thought "Gill will be delighted" - even though we had purchased a 1 ltr Fairy Liquid the week before in another shop.

So imagine how I feel today when my neighbour Stuart asks me where is the best place to get a large Fairy Liquid - I say "the Ucuz Shop" and tell him 6.95 lira and he appears 1 hour later with the same size Fairy from the Migros Express (near the Sunday Market) for 6.25 lira - devastated.

So there must be a moral to this story and that is "always check on your doorstep"

I never thought Stuart would be a better bargain shopper than you Ian

I think it was lucky - but it did surprise me that the small Migros was cheaper than a pound shop!

I went to the market and asked about a wooden spatula Price 3 lira .Gunlukbasi shop exactly same item 1 lira

Our only "constant" is BIM is cheapest so get it there if they have it - whatever it is
