has any one got the latest on this tax to pay via hotels ect ect, and the cost per day ?.

I see some hotels have increased the cost of rooms a little, mines gone up £1 per night per room compared to last years room rate , no problem to me BUT its this so called tax I can find little info about,

The latest I can glean is that it is introduced incrementally from April at 1% total cost of accommodation rising to 2% from December.It would also appear that the provider is responsible for paying it on your behalf so will more than likely be added to the price which may account for the small price rises for room.Iam seeking clarification on this.

It has changed since first mooted as they were going to charge based upon the star rating of the hotel but that was ditched in favour of the % increase.

As usual RE has it written into law that he can change the costs at any time,so it’s a bit more watch this space
