Easter Strikes at Spanish Airports
« on: March 09, 2011, 17:15:08 PM »
Saw the news item briefly this morning, but didn't think too much about it till a friend in work (who has a property in Spain) called by my office today, asking if we were planning to fly to Turkey for Easter.  She then told me that our flights could well be affected, as the Spanish airspace would be closed to all aircraft!   :o

Scuse my poor Geography (I'd never make a Geog teacher   :-\ ) but do flights from London fly over Spanish airspace, and has anyone else heard this?  I'm hoping she's talking cr*p!   :)

(Actually, I think she's jealous as she wont have a holiday and we will - hopefully!   :-\ )

Still owed money from last year's cancellations - could do without this!!!  :(

Its not just the Spanish flights that will be affected. You may be flying to Turkey in a plane stranded somewhere due to the strike.

oh Jules......see you in Bognar...... ;):D

The whole of europe will be affected one way or another - as aircraft will need to be reslotted and redistributed etc....

Take a deep breath....

By the sounds of it Pookie - Bognor it is!!!  We can't let something like this spoil our holiday!  :o :o :o :o

Calvin, my luck with flights last year was as good as yours!!!  Still waiting for my Goldtrail money back, for flights that were booked in February 2010 !!  :(

Anyone know how to get to Fethiye by train?  We have a month booked in the summer - we may just make it by rail (AND we have free rail travel to one European country per year - time to start planning!   :) )
