He is a real star. He even tried to keep the donation secret.
Makes me proud to be scouser.

what about the other scousers, Sir Paul, ringo,Tarby, etc who are all worth more than Ricky in Cash terms. I hope he doesn't turn down knighthood which he richly deserves

His too often "political approach" used to irritate me but now I accept he is a real star and I stand corrected.

More so as on the Chris Evans morning show yesterday he was asked to come and and talk about it and said "don't want to talk about it" - now that is class - a genuine donation with no strings!

ooh I so love the Royle family best comedy show ever! Always find it comforting to watch if I am on a downer, or cant sleep find it so funny and so soothing.Find it hard to believe there is actually a film crew in the room with them all when they are watching tv and smoking, feel like that's really their front room!

I don't think there is much chance of Ringo giving anything back to Liverpool :D

Yes... agreed a great donation...  but I  cant stand the guy... as a building tradesman, I remember how, back in the 70`s.. him running around the building sites clobbering all the tradesmen with a baseball bat... one of which he maimed  for life !!! and all they were doing was trying to earn a crust, and didnt agree with the strike action that Ricky Tomlinson was a major  `trade union` player of.. ( tv documentary in 2004 )  Nasty character back then... and in my eyes , unforgivable behaviour

O.M.G. I hope you can substantiate that statement as it's strong, libelous, stuff to put on a public forum.
I know Ricky was a trade union man and a flying picket in the 70's.  He was jailed
for two years for intimidation, but, I don't remember every reading about him maiming
anyone.
