Sorry Kevin but I don't believe a word of that. Just tittle tattle hearsay.

The staff at the resort and those who owned the place, along with the Portuguese police, have tried to shift the focus away from themselves since day one. Maybe if the police had spent less time trying to prove that they killed and moved their own child and more time following up leads like the ones that are now emerging they would have had a chance of finding out what happened to this poor mite.

Dreadful stories made up by the Portuguese Police to hid their totally incompetent management of this crime.
I don't for one minute think the parents had anything to do with this poor child's abduction.
I think a lot of the really hurtful comments by people are because they blame the McCann''s for leaving their children alone.  Something they have said they bitterly regret, but something their friends in that holiday group had also been doing every evening.
I am sure every day they wish they could go back in time and change what they did.  They have suffered for years and it's time the public forgave them for this awful mistake. Lets hope that one day they find out what happened to Madeleine.

My feelings exactly Jacqui. I just ache for them, it must be so terribly hard - day in day out. I think of friends who had huge gardens and we'd be sitting out there in the warm evenings just as far away as they were in that restaurant. There but for the grace of God. . .

To get back to the point made that started this topic, surely once a British child goes missing from a holiday apartment, the first thing to check is if there are any records of break ins involving holidaying British families. For this to be news all these years on is incredible.

It's unbelievable that it's taken 7 years to get this information out in the open.  It's obvious the Police kept this quiet to protect the tourist business.

Exactly Jacqui! I love the Algarve but the police have been more than negligent in this whole sorry affair.

I can think of no other reason other than to protect the only thing that the Algarve has - tourism.

Either that or total incompetence.

"total incompetence" stoop

I take it you were referring to the parents actions
