Unnecessary Insensitivity: Part 2
« on: February 28, 2006, 16:02:01 PM »
The news that we all knew would arrive, has. The "unnecessary insensitivity" case is going to the Appeal Court. I imagine it will go on through House of Lords to the Court of Human Rights - with Ken pushing this all the way. We will have plenty of chance to learn the precise, but contested, UK definition of what it is that we must not do. And it will cost a fortune.

However, for those who want to say that Britain has gone PC mad (I say this as some-one who has always been "ideologically sound" - which is what we had before PC) we could compare the UK with one of our EU colleagues. In Austria if you deny that the Holocaust took place they send you to prison for 3 years; but if you actually took part in it then they elect you as President. Odd scale of values don't you think? I prefer the UK's - so far.
