Door handles

This is a bedroom door handle at Grand Vizon. For my fellow guest who apparently were unaware of how to operate it, here is a simple explanation. After unlocking the door, gently turn the handle and push the door open and enter the room. Turn around and grasp the door handle on the room side of the door. Take a step towards the corridor and gently place the door back into the frame. Do not, having entered the room, proceed to close the door from the fully open position to the closed position in one fell swoop with such force that the whole room shakes.

H is it a door handle or is it a door knob, not sure which would be the correct technical term to use.

I think it's a door handle with a small knob in the middle, & another, bigger knob on the other side, who keeps slamming the bloody door!!
Gordy.
