From 9th Oct passports will not be able to be renewed by the British Consul in Fethiye but will have to be sent to Istanbul. Details available from the consulate in Fethiye.

They always have sent them to Istanbul, at least they did when I did mine last April. The whole process takes around 10 working days.

That's right. Mine was sent to Istanbul in October 2008 and took 10 working days as promised.

Only Istanbul and Ankara can process passports and has always been like this so nothing new here.

well you doubting toms..the lady was right...as the consulate office is at the end of the corridor from our office(nudge nudge wink wink!) i checked just now.

official....as from the 9th oct.. the british honery consulate in fethiye will no longer accept passport applications.
all completed forms and documents must be sent directly to istanbul.
forms available from the fethiye office or can be downloaded with instructions from........
