I am reliably told that due to pressure from Efes the last delivery of john Smiths and Guinness is still in a customs shed as the amount of licenses required to sell it became impossible to the importers. If there is any available I would think Antalia would be a good bet

Aaah English beer, almost a good enough reason to return to England. I seem to remember (i think is was Starman) saying it was available last year up in Istanbul, so I thought the reason we didn't have any was just down to the local import company rather than countrywide import problems.
The only alternatives to crappy Efes I know of are other crappy Lagers like Fosters, Becks, Miller, Skol etc.

Efes Dark is a little more tolerable but its still not a proper beer!

I think a lot of people who rave about it are deluded. They associate it with the holiday. What they need over there is a decent Cider that doesn't turn your tounge green? The first bar to stock Magners or bulmers will clean up. Just have to look at the seasonal sales in the UK.
