I think that's 100% correct. You couldn't like Efes with it's bland flavour, huge gas and strange finish. I bought it in Netto the year before we moved to Turkey and it did indeed remind me of our holidays.

After five years of it I don't need any reminders :D

Efes is fine for me  :) I too buy it over here now and again.

If it's less than a quid a bottle in Tesco you bring it on holiday with you to Turkey :D

No - it has to be 50p a bottle to cover the excess baggage charge ;)

The flagship product, Efes Pilsen (called "Efes Pilsener" in English) gets its unique taste from rice added into the ingredients at brewing stage. The 5.0% ABV beer  has been described to have a "tangy malt and hops aroma, rich malt in the mouth, and a bitter-sweet finish that becomes dry and hoppy",[2]  and has won more than a dozen awards through the years, starting with the 1981 Monde Selection Bruxelles Gold Medal; the 1979 Golden Caraius 19th Caralious Gold Medal; the 1973 Selection Mondial Paris Gold Medal; and the 1972 12th Annual World Beer and Non-Alcoholic Drinks Selection Gold and Silver Medals for Dark Beer and White Beer, respectively.

Yes it's the "unique taste" from rice added that I hate the most I think :D

Iam a real ale man however when on hols I do like Efes but only before I go on the red wine ,Vodka and Raki !There was a bar just along from Annas which served a draught pint of Turkish beer for 2ytl last year which was really nice but cannot remember the name of it.We went in to watch the footy were well impressed with the beer prices but he tried to charge us 8ytl for a saucer of nuts that he had just bought a large bag of for 2.5ytl from the corner shop ! In my own inimitable Geordie style I told him that I wasnt paying but would give him 2.5 for the whole bag ,which he reluctantly agreed to and apologised profusely.I then told him that we would not be back despite the good beer so he offered it to us at 1.5ytl a pint if we didnt tell anyone so hush !
