Gemiler beach --beware

Went to Gemiler beach for the day.
Lovely run on the dolmus, (wrong one so had to change at Kaya)
As we got off the bus a young lady encouraged us to use the sun beds on her bit of beach, free, just buy drink or lunch.
Beach club to left which looked like your standard tourist priced place.
Went for lunch, no menu, so we ordered two Chicken Shish and drinks.
Chicken was flattened out wings and leg. Salad was ok but the chips were swimming in grease.
Fed most of it to the cat.[|)][|)]
Then we got the bill.  25 tl each...our hotel was charging 24 tl for steak and sauce with trimmings .
Now we know why there is no menu!!
A couple who arrived same time as us challenged the price but they suddenly did not understand English.
So beware ..you have been warned.

Phewglad I am it is not just us who have been had.  I felt a proper twit for not checking the price.
You just don't  expect a shack to be charging Ritz prices:(

We did the same in May but refused to pay for the food.  She wasn't best pleased but we stuck to our guns and gave her the money for the drinks.

I used to love Gemiler but now warn everyone against this con!

We went to Gemiler and a girl warned us not to go to that side as they were rip offs so glad we took her advice.  Pity I hadnt read up better on getting there thought you could walk it from Kaya 1 1/2 hours later still no sign of beach luckily a dolmus saved the day and my bacon hubby not impressed at all:D
