Megri Lokantasi in the Paspatur in Fethiye - my favourite place for Iskender

Russ, there is a new Place for the best Iskender it is on the main road opposite side to the PTT, it's called Iskender something, I can't find their card at the moment, well worth a visit, you can have various portion sizes all listed on the menu.

I would second Oztuklu, the calamari in their special sauce is just amazing.
Also Gar lokanta opposite the otogar for the best pides.
Seckin lokanta in Gunlikbasi for cheap tasty traditional Turkish fare.
Hopefully we might get to meet you at the winehouse!

Arriving on Wednesday, so I also am going to take up the option of some of the places mentioned. We decided on B&B instead of half board this time, like we did on our first trip. We would like to try some of these mentioned.

Would recommend you treat Brenda to a meal in the Yacht Classic in Fethiye, lovely place and fabulous food.  We think the prices there are very reasonable.

Best Pide without a doubt. Samdan in Fethiye (and we have eaten a few).  We discovered this place a few weeks ago after walking past it hundreds of times. It gets packed with the local office staff at lunchtimes. It is a traditional Turkish Lokanta. Excellent value. It is on the back road behind ING Bank going towards the paspatur. They dont have 2 prices unlike the Gar in Fethiye which made their fatal last mistake of ripping us off yet again. We were with a Turkish friend this time and he complained very loudly I might add. He used to go in regularly with his friends after work. After seeing our bill he has told them all not to go in again.

From Wikipeia artie

iskender kebab is one of the most famous meat foods of Northwestern Turkey and takes its name from its inventor, iskender Efendi (Iskender meaning 'Alexander'), who lived in Bursa in the late 19th century. It can be assumed to be derived from a verticalized version
Cag Kebabi, from Erzurum.

It is a kind of döner kebab prepared from thinly cut grilled lamb basted with hot tomato sauce over pieces of pide bread and generously slathered with melted sheep butter and yogurt.

Additionally, one cylindrical köfte can be placed on top. It is commonly consumed with şira as a drink to aid digestion. Tomato sauce and boiling butter are sometimes poured over the dish, at the table.
