Back to the food... Re the Calis lokanta. Kevin and I popped in there on Friday  evening for a snack. We had soup, rice and a salad with lovely warm bread and couldn't get it down our necks quick enough  18tl for the two of us. Lovely stuff!

I thought it was Nichola and Doğan. Oh well, I've only been there once.

Thank you Colwyn, very calmly and sensibly put. My apologies to Dogan for spelling his name incorrectly.

Yes, price have gone up, but Calis is not unusual, prices rise everywhere, that is inflation.  However, six years ago we got around 2.20TL to the pound.  We are now getting 3.50 TL.  So we think the meals out are great value for money.   No complaints from us.  On average £30.00 for a meal for two and drinks is very good.

Jacqui - please - six years ago you would not have been paying £30.00 for a meal for two and drink.

No and  6 years ago I would not be getting 3.50TL  to the pound either.
The last remark about the £30.00 was referring to prices now.

So if the lire strengthens, would you still be happy to pay those prices, because you can bet your life that there will be no reductions to take account of a strengthening currency.

Let's assume that the meal six years ago cost £ 25 - you would have paid 55 lira
Six years on and the meal now costs £ 30 - you are paying 105lira
