Good afternoon everyone. This is the third year on the run we are visiting the resort and cannot wait to enjoy an Efes or two whilst holidaying in our favourite place. I found this forum whilst googling "can you smuggle bacon into Turkey" given the complexity sometimes of finding your favourite breakfast ingredients. Fortunately, last year found a cracking shop selling everything we wanted so no need looking shifty going through customs. I do have a question for those of you in the know however. Is there anywhere that sells either disposable portable BBQ's or even better, the self igniting bags of briquettes? For the last two years, we've found coal in a bag with kindling but unless you cover the coals in gel, it's been an impossible task getting a decent BBQ going.
Hope someone knows somewhere..........

Welcome Barry. Yes you can buy disposable BBQ, Kipa have them in a tinfoil tray. Haven't tried them myself, so don't know how good or otherwise they are
-
Brilliant. Thanks Liz. Don't remember seeing them in Kippa last season.

Im sure I saw self lighting briquette bags in the newsagents/small shop on the left just before dolphin roundabout cake/coffee shop, glad I'm not the only one who struggles with the bags with a small amount of kindling in. >:(

self igniting bags of briquettes
This sounds like a very dangerous thing.
Belated welcome to CBF Barry :)

We should all "come out" and admit it. Hello. My name's Barry and I'm a bloke who struggles with BBQ on 1 bit of kindling". Wow. I feel a whole lot better . That said. I love the paddles you can buy there. As long as you don't get stopped in customs
