You know it is possible (and in my opinion likely) that Mambo did not make the connection between the dreadful incidents and the tour company.  For those reading the forum regularly it is more likely the name would be recognised -
I think it was unfair to assume it was a plug and if Mambo is indeed genuine, then there were some very rude and unkind replies posted.
Appreciate it is a very emotive subject but I was quite shocked by some of the replies when the poster may be genuine.
This sort of reaction is what makes people afraid to post anything other than "safe" comments on here - the forum closes ranks if you step out of line......

You are entitled to your opinion of course but purely based on 7 years experience I can report that people who plug something in their first ever post are nearly always doing it with a hidden agenda, so the reaction is understandable. I added to that by pointing out that there is another side to the company she came here to recommend (bizarrely based on comments in a guestbook??). A discussion forum is exactly for that, she is entitled to think they are very good and others are entitled to say that they are a bunch of totally irresponsible money grabbers who would do anything if they could make a lira out of it, as the Guardian quite clearly show. To ignore that when renting out a property to people who will often have young kids is not acceptable or responsible behaviour and I do hope she advises guests to use one of the dozens of others who see more in tourists than just liras.

Your comments were fair and constructive Scunner and I should have said "reply" rather than "replies" really as it was an earlier one that I found to be over the top which then started the negative vibes.

I agree after many years you can recognise the warning signs but if Mambo was genuine, then to be called "thick" is not terribly welcoming when possibly an innocent mistake had been made.

If this is a plug then I hold my hands up and am quite comfortable that a company like this should be slated - be happy to join in!     It's just that if it were an innocent comment... well, you know my feelings now.

I dont rent my property out and I really hope that continues to be the case! If I did then I would be most upset if I rented it out to families with children and they booked any trips on my recommondation or any guests I had with a company who had accidents on any of their trips or who had sold tickets to that appaling hell hole that held two poor dolpins captive for peoples entertainment!

Exactly, and there are so many tour operators there is no need to.

I do take your point Bluwise but people are wary of glittering appraisals in first posts. This is because they are nearly always dubious and members have grown tired of such activity. All CBF visits from this new member (from the day they joined, months ago) is on TTnet, that also adds to the likelihood. If it's not the case then what can we do, other than advise them on how to join a forum and the correct situation regarding Seaside, not an opinion formed from reading a guestbook.

That's my point, advise on forum procedures and definitely put them right about Seaside -
We surely should save the insults until we are sure :D

I also think that if the guest book was full of recommendations for a company, bar, restaurant etc then it would be natural to comment on this.

OK, maybe I'm just gullible  :-\

One thing for sure, if it was a genuine post then having read all this, there is every chance the Guestbook will be amended to show the disgrace that is Seaside and lessen the risk of disaster to another innocent family.

Scunner, are you basically saying that their email address is TTnet therefore they've been here for some time (and not newly arrived)?
