Ive found it - cherry juice!!!!!

Its at Lidl 99p for 1lt.  Just had vodka cherry, its not quite the same its very cherry, you need a lot of vodka in but its a good second.  Thinking of turkey now the sunset, the kaan bar, oops empty glass, better get a refillll.[xx(][xx(][xx(][xx(][xx(][xx(][?]

I think the stuff they sell over here is a lot sweeter than the stuff in turkey

Jenny, you are quite right as the Visne that we get in Turkey is actually 'sour cherry'. Still very nice though!

Just found 2 brilliant shops in Doncaster that sells the real Visne (sour cherry)
juice and the jam. In fact everything we miss when we are back in England. And as an added bonus there is a great Turkish restaurant about 3 streets away as well.

Are they shops that are just local to Donny, or do they have branches elsewhere (particularly in other parts of Yorkshire)?

Hi Liz sorry as far as I know its just 2 Turkish family run shops in Donny but you can get everything there. We live in Wakefield and go over once a month just to stock up. Its well worth the trip for those things you really miss!!!!!

Sounds like a good idea to me! I have a week off work starting tomorrow so we are going over to stock up again and have a meal at the restaurant (so that we can pretend we are in Calis.....sad huh?!)
