Title: Property rental tax

Good evening.

We are now intending letting our property in Turkey out for most of the summer, I understand that we now need to pay tax, as previously we did not earn a lot. Are we able, as joint owners, to split the income we receive between both of us, complete separate tax returns and each benefit from the 3,300 tlr allowance ( we are both named on the tape) any help greatly appreciated as just trying to work out potential tax liability.

If you are going to do this through an agency, they may be able to explain this tax situation to you?
Ten years ago when we bought our property, we were going to rent out and a guy came to the house to arrange rentals, he did, at the time, explain the tax situation.   
Just to add, we changed our minds, could not bear the thought of strangers in our place    :)

My understanding is that because you have two names on the Tapu you both get the allowance

Been to the tax office, who have confirmed that if you have two names on the tapu , then you both get the tax allowance (3,300tlr 2014, I think).
