The Chindi restaurant opposite friar tucks takes some beating on quality and prices
-
Does it now[?] What do they offer that is so good?
-
Do you think he oversold it a little Eric? :D
-
Always wonder how people make the comparison for some of the food in the Chinindi style or other asian restaurants in the area. Yes edible but not anywhere near authentic. Chindi is Friar Tucks. Our comparison is with Shanghi Blues in Hisaronu, and Yang Sing Manchester.

Think you might find The Red Wok in Ovacik and Hong Kong in Hisaronu can both have the same said about them.In my opinon as I have tried all 3 !!!

And in your opnion which is best?

Find them all to be much the same good value although. My opinion !! I prefer Hong Kong.
-
Hong Kong isnt two minutes down the road, or a twenty minute walk to hisaronu for the other authentic chinese indian restaurants
-
Authentic!!!
-
Its got flock wallpaper:D ;)

You'll find a more authentic curry in a jar of Loyd Grosmans
-
I am confused now i had penciled in the Red Wok from a previous topic for a Chinese meal. I now find it may be a authentic Chinese Indian restaurant whats one of them, i think maybe i will stick to Turkish.Thats what i go for.

Totally agree Scunner. I remember a couple of years ago, a certain restaurant (who everyone said had the best curries in Ovacik and H) asking people to bring them jars of Sharwoods curry paste when they came on holiday.
-
The Red Wok doesnt sell Indian food. Just Chinese and English and both are very good.
-
We tried the Red Wok the other week. We had take-away and played it safe and ordered sweet and sour chicken and we also had spring rolls. Not bad, but a bit greasy. Not as good as Shanghai Blues to be honest.
Not too keen on trying Chindi given that it supposedly specialises in two completely different styles of cooking.
For the best Turkish food, I'd recommend 3 Cheers in Ovacik. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
And you can't beat the Yengec in Hisaronu/Ovacik for a great meal either. I love their Supper Club, where you don't know what's going to be on the menu. Always fantastic.

Come on Phil this must be the umpteenth time you have posted this - or if not you, someone else. Now I want to know which restaurant and if it is my favourite and the one and only Indian that serves anything remotely like Indian food as good as the best back in the UK I want to know.
And even if it is can I say now I couldn't care less. It would be impossible to serve the amount of curries over a season based on what can ultimately be a handful of people bringing over the odd jar of Sharwoods. It just wouldn't stretch.
So please come along and stop alluding and spit it out... :D

What's the Flock wallpaper to do with anything ?(sorry)

Had 2 meals at this restaurant in July. Both indian and chinese meals tasted ok. Prices are reasonable. Not as good as the Shine in Hisaronu but you pays your money! Will be using the restaurant again, mainly because it is near to us. Decor is very plain inside. Owner is from friar tucks opposite and intends to open the restuarant during the winter instead of friar tucks.

No
You didn't listen
When we said Hong Kong we meant the place, not the Turkish restaurant.
Doooh

Instead of Friar Tucks? Is that because it's getting pulled down this winter to build a super market?
