If someone brings into Turkey a new mobile phone for me will I be able to register it or will it have to be registered by the person with the passport visa stamp?

Not sure on that one.  Just registered a mobile from UK but they took a copy of passport and date of entry to Turkey. I think if you have residency you would be able to register it yourself.

Some shops check for the date of entry on passports, others don't.

My last date of entry in my passport was in Jan 2012 and I was wanting my son to bring one over next month hence the question would I be able to register it or would he have to do it. I have residence permit.
