New road at Telmessos
« on: July 05, 2010, 14:14:48 PM »
Just returned after a fab month. Two weeks ago the council have finally started on the road around the complex. Friday they were levelled the the dirt track road from the main gates (security hut) to the other entrance, beach side. Also going from the main gates to Carreta beach just passed the bins on the right at the rear of the complex.
The doly bus is now collecting peple from outside the Birlick every hour and going into Fetthiye upto 9pm each night.
Once the road is completeed it may well be that a regular doly bus will collect permanently from the complex.
Downside we may all be charged extra on our council tax next year.

That will be a brilliant improvement. We like to walk to Caretta beach, and a bus back would be handy rather than get caught in another downpour like we experienced in May.
:D

Jane, good to know they have started on that road, it was like a road out of Wacky Races. I looked on Google Earth a while back and noticed that they have re routed the road as well from the beach coming up from Calis, it now bypasses the memorial I see.
We are over to Telmessos next week for 2 weeks so I will report back later with progress. Like you say I wonder how much this is going to cost us? Still worth paying if things improve.

I tell you what - they dug some earth out for this the other week! We watched as lorry after lorry came through our site (Saglik). Eventually someone complained and they were re-routed away from us. I'm talking 6-10 lorries per hour at one stage.

Strange thing is they just sort of dumped the earth (with some rather large stones) onto the little tracks around Cicek and up towards the main road. What a nightmare trying to ride the bikes up them!

Interesting about the Dolmus. Has anyone got a timetable for it leaving the Birlik and does it go via Calis?

Toky there was a thread about it a few years ago - I've tried a search but can't find it, perhaps somebody can come to the rescue?

Hi Stoop.
Apparently it leaves every hour, from the Birlik, but not sure when exactly.

It leaves the Birlik and goes passed the Alprin and then onto Fethiye - that's what we were told
